THE FORAYE • SAGE GARDEN • 132 LICHFIELD STREET •
A group of us stood behind the cyclone fence pondering the massive job of ripping up the weeds and digging the gravely soil. A team of tradies turned up to do some pipe work in an adjacent site. Quickly it became clear the leader of the pack was a woman. Not only did she direct the boys with incredible assertiveness and finesse, she also pulled out her all pink toolkit, the keys to a little digger and got on with the job.
She saw us standing around, procrastinating on the weed pulling and offered to put her lil digger to work. She made quick work of our job, getting it done in 15 minutes. What a relief! What a treat! What an excellent example, once again, of women getting things done.
After this, we spent a few hours planting these resilient little sages into the soil. Working on hands and knees and sharing sweet conversation.
